Armstrong’s First Family Field Trip to Chicago Symphony Orchestra March 30th
We are excited to announce our very first family field trip to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, March 30, 2019! Buses will leave Armstrong at 9:00am, and return by 1:00pm. Tickets are $10 per person (children and adults). The flyer and permission slip went home earlier, but you can view a printable Chicago Symphony Orchestra Family Field Trip Form here . We are limited to only 50 seats, so we will be reserving space on a first come, first serve basis. We hope you can join us for this incredible family event!
Imagine a child from 1919 meets a child from 2019. Though their lives are very different, they discover joy and meaning in music in the very same ways. This program will include Dvořák’s “New World Symphony”, Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and the music of Florence Price.
This field trip is for families—all children must be accompanied by at least one parent. Tickets are $10 per person (children and adults). We will meet at the Armstrong School parking lot and leave on a school bus at 9 a.m. We will arrive at Symphony Center on Michigan Avenue in down Chicago in time for child friendly preconcert activities. The performance begins at 11 a.m. and will last an hour. We expect to be back at Armstrong at 1 p.m. The concert is recommended for 5-year olds and above but we can take siblings who are at least 3 years old. Siblings older than 6th grade are also invited to join their family. Because tickets had to be reserved months ago, we are limited to only 50 seats, so we will be reserving space on a first come, first served basis.
