Practice for Over the Summer
Did you know that students can experience learning loss if they don’t engage in educational activities over the summer? If students do not continue to keep their minds busy during summer break, up to 25% of academic learning can be lost, according to the US Department of Education. We want to help keep our students growing over the summer months!
Each teacher sent home work for students to complete over the summer – this may include math packets to prepare for the next grade level, recommended educational apps, a summer reading list, and/or a calendar of fun educational activities. The packet was sent home with your child during the last week of school.
Many local restaurants and businesses offer incentives for summer learning. An envelope filled with coupons and reading incentives from various establishments came home the last week of school also. Thank you to Mrs. Moorehouse for putting this together!
